Three Things — July 2024

July was a month where figurative sleeves were rolled up and everything felt achievable. In between the demands of attention, energy, intention, and time, here are three things that left an impression upon me:

LATENCY ALLA VILLA DI MEDICI II

LATENCY ALLA VILLA DI MEDICI II Album Cover

Paris-based record label and curatorial platform Latency commissioned soundscapes for the Villa di Medici in Rome. This five-track album has new work from artists that I have loved for some time, Angel Bat Dawid, Duval Timothy, and Kalia Vandever, alongside pieces from new-to-me artists Mabe Fatti and CS + Kreme, whom I am grateful to be introduced to. Villa di Medici, home of the French Academy, is an artists' residence and museum. One cursory image search of its grounds immediately brings me clarity of the sensations I feel while listening to each of these soundscapes through a feeling of place.

good neighbor design camp 2024

good neighbor has created Baltimore's only design week, "Design Camp." For the past four years, we have made an effort to bring the community together through the focus of creative curiosity. For this year's Design Camp, I assisted in developing the overall theme and conceived the name its title: "A Student of ________," along with copywriting its mission and all related elements.
Additional creative contributions came to life through the art direction and design for Design Camp's visual identity, which appeared digitally and experientially on the web, social media, and email and with a facade takeover of good neighbor's shop, posters, and other printed ephemera.
I also documented each day of design camp through photography to capture Baltimore's creative community and reaffirm that Baltimore is a design city unlike any other.
